All locations of The Seattle Public Library and the book drops at the Central Library will be closed on Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 20.

Upgraded interiors at three locations


Maintenance = Sustainability


We promised to maintain buildings for the next generation.


2015 Accomplishments:


  • Completed 12,000+ work orders to keep Library buildings clean, efficient and in good working order
  • Remodeled Rainier Beach Branch as part of Re-imagined Spaces project 
  • Completed interior renovations at Capitol Hill and Northgate branches
  • Completed exterior access improvements at West Seattle Branch
  • Relocated exterior signs and upgraded lighting at Lake City Branch
  • Specialty cleaning of floors and upholstery, pressure and window washing, cleaning of high gutters and drains at branches 
  • Central Library escalator upgrades
  • Relamped the Books Spiral at Central Library
  • Extensive pruning and landscaping at Green Lake, Broadview, Magnolia, Delridge and Douglass-Truth branches
